Putting up an Advent wreath
Crafting instructions from the 2024 Christmas catalog
Do it yourself
Sticking instead of tying, a different kind of Advent wreath. Easy to make, with great effect.
Materials
Straw wreath
Fir branches or other evergreen branches
Wire pins
secateurs, side cutters or knife
Method
Start with a straw wreath as the basis for your Advent wreath.
Cut small bundles of twigs to the desired length.
Attach the bundles of twigs to the wreath with short wire pins. Start at one point and work your way counter-clockwise.
Make sure that the twigs are close together to completely cover the straw wreath.
Allow the bundles to overlap slightly to achieve an even and lush appearance and touch up any gaps if necessary.
When the wreath is finished, you can cut off any excess branches with secateurs. The wreath can then be decorated as desired with candles, cones or similar.
